Heinrich Peter ('Henk') Persoon, in Australia Harry Peerson, remarried after the dissolution of his first marriage (to Maria Hurkens, 1944) in Brisbane on 30 December 1953 to Elizabeth Rebecca Schuurhof. Both had emigrated from the Netherlands to Australia in 1951, arriving on the same day (13 June 1951) aboard the Sibajak. Both had divorced shortly before, each in June 1944 (Elizabeth from the baker Marinus Damsteeg, Henk from Maria Hurkens), which suggests they already belonged together by then. They applied for Australian citizenship together and took the oath at Brookvale on 18 April 1963. The marriage was childless; Henk died a few months after naturalization, in late July 1963.
