Elisabeth Clerckx
Elisabeth Clerckx was baptised on 25 January 1647, by the fathers of the Abbey of Berne, a daughter of Lambert Clerckx and Adriana Petersdochter. In everyday life she was called 'Leske'. She married Aart Aartsse van Biesen. At the 1707 estate division of her childless uncle Jan (Johannes) Goossenss Clercx the two of them received the fifth lot: a house with three and a half hont of land at Elshout. She is one of the few women of this early generation of whom both a name and a life event have survived.
