Godefridus Klerks

Godefridus Klerks was baptised on 15 January 1803 in Elshout, the son of Adrianus Clerx and Petronella van de Wiel. On 28 September 1829 he married Wilhelmina van Venrooy. The family settled in Drunen (house B.294), where Godefridus earned his living as a farmer. Together they had eight children, born between 1830 and 1848 — among them Arnoldus (1843), who continued the lineage. According to the Drunen population register (1861–1869), several children were still living at home at that time. Wilhelmina died on 20 February 1863; Godefridus six years later, on 20 May 1869, in Drunen.

Recorded in the Drunen population register 1861-1869 (Streekarchief Langstraat Heusden Altena, sheet 315) as a farmer, living in Drunen (house B.294). Several children were still living at home at the time. Note on the date of death: Leo's genealogy (source S1) gives 20 May 1869; an external family tree (MyHeritage) gives 23 May 1869 - three days' difference, still to be confirmed with a death certificate. For now we keep 20 May 1869.
