Gezina Maria Knippenberg

Married Petrus Leonardis Persoon (P0115) on 6 February 1850; together they had three children.

Twice married

Petrus died as early as 20 June 1851, leaving Gezina a young widow. She remarried Hendricus (Hendrik) Vasen, a linen bleacher in Haarlem (P0200). Gezina herself worked as a servant in a bleachery; both of her husbands were in the bleaching trade too (a bleacher's assistant and a linen bleacher). Both marriages are confirmed by her death certificate, which records her as 'wife of Hendrik Vasen, previously married to Pieter Leonardus Persoon'.

Death

Gezina died on 4 November 1883, at one o'clock in the afternoon, in the house at Zuider Buiten Spaarne 16 in Haarlem, at the age of 63, entirely consistent with her birth on 23 December 1819 in Reek. Her mother was Maria Elisabeth Hardick. Her death was also announced in the newspaper De Tijd (10 November 1883).
