Anna Maria Giesen
Anna Maria Giesen was born on 2 May 1882 in Dülken, near München-Gladbach in Germany. She married Pieter Persoon; the family lived alternately in Germany and the Netherlands and numbered eight children. In 1913 they lived in Spaarndam, where the children became severely neglected. On 13 June 1913 Anna left the family during her husband's absence; the children were thereupon placed in foster families by the Guardianship Board. In August 1913 she left with Pieter for Germany, and on 29 September 1913 both parents were stripped of parental authority by the court. Anna died on 11 May 1943 and was buried at the Noorderbegraafplaats in Amsterdam.
